Eden is an Indie Pop group whose leader is called Jonathon Ng (born 23 December 1995), known professionally as EDEN, Irish singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and occasional model.

· EDITING & CAMERA WORK:

The editing is continuos and sticks to the beat of the song. This is the main reason why I decided to analyse this video because I am looking to produce a video that stick to the song itself. For example, the way the music changes tone/beat and the camera moves along with it such as the start when the singer starts singing and the main actor looks to the side the camera shot changes. There is a continuous flow along with the camera and the editing, making the audience feel incapable of taking their eyes off screen.

The way the shots change along with the song and become shorter as they approach the chorus is key as it builds up suspense. Another great example is when she is in the shower and there is a medium shot of her hand against the shower glass and it is suddenly cut to a medium shot of her hand lying on top of a bus window. This change in shot suggests melancholy and loneliness. As she is portrayed to be alone both inside the house and outside.

This type of editing along with the camera where they make the passing of time very clear and move from place to place creates a clear sense of unity and narrative. It is clear how the relationship of the two main characters develop and start to grow apart from one another.

· LIGHTING:

The lighting is low key mainly as it suggests how cold their relationship is turning from a warm and loving one to a much colder one. Therefore the contrast between the warm lighting at the begging and the darker lights at the end. Moreover the long shots of both main characters at the beach (which symbolises the turbulent relationship) with no lighting around and a single spotlight first focusing on one of them and then on the other one with both of them giving their backs to one another references how they are feeling alone in a relationship that is doomed to end.

· MISE EN SCENE & PROPS:

This is very important in order to create a clear narrative as the places show their story and all the things they have done together. It uses the both intimate places such as their bedroom and the shower in order to show how close they are (or once were) juxtaposing it with outside places such as buses, restaurants, the beach... which makes reference to how they each shared everything in their lives.

The clothing is very important as it is usually dark and they both are dressed matching colours in order for it to make it more satisfactory to watch. They are either wearing black or grey. This is very important as it creates unity inside the frame and there is no dissonance when putting every all the shots together as the editing is mainly cutting so there won't be a massive change in colours from one shot to another.
